Choose accessories by scale and context
Accessories can change an outfit without replacing the clothes. Compare visual scale, practical movement and the message you want the outfit to carry.
01
Choose a focal point
Look at your outfit as a whole. If a neckline, print or jacket already draws attention, decide whether jewellery should echo it or provide a quieter finish. Several strong details can work, but they should be an intentional choice rather than additions made separately.
02
Compare rather than label yourself
Try two accessory sizes with the same outfit and photograph them from the same distance. Notice balance around the neckline and sleeves. You do not need to classify your face or body into a fixed type to see which scale supports the look you want.
03
Test movement and comfort
Check whether earrings catch on hair, bracelets strike a keyboard or a necklace sits awkwardly under a collar. For skin sensitivities, verify materials and seek suitable advice if irritation occurs. A beautiful detail is less useful if you keep removing it during the day.
04
Buy the missing role
Before shopping, identify the role your current accessories cannot fill: a lighter everyday earring, a smaller belt buckle or an adjustable necklace length. Use that role to compare options. Avoid collecting near-identical pieces when an existing one already does the job.
